I am currently employed by Blue Haven Pools-OKC as a custom swimming pool designer. I chose to work for Blue Haven Pools-OKC because they are the only national gunite swimming pool builder in the state of Oklahoma. I have never been in sales before and that intimidated me at first. I quickly realized that it was similar to an architectural firm where I had to sell the company that I represent and also sell my designs. My goals are to provide each customer (no matter the size or budget) a custom and unique watershape that will give them breathtaking views from inside the home or in the back yard and unparalleled customer service. Three aspects that I look at when designing a custom gunite swimming pool are: function, form, and design.

Typically, I set up an appointment with a prospective client to find out what the client's wants, needs, and ideas are. Are we building a recreational play swimming pool, diving swimming pool, lap swimming pool, or a magazine quality show pool? What kind of materials and textures are to be used? How is the swimming pool going to be used? What is the budget for the project? These are just a portion of questions asked. I also evaluate the access to the pool site, check for changes in elevation, utility location, drainage issues, and take field measurements of the pool site. Then the design process begins!!
